MJ Team Asks For New Trial – Taracks Gomez & Rickman

MJ (Todd Schnitt) filed a defamation lawsuit against rival radio announcer Bubba the Love Sponge Clem (Todd Alan Clem) but was not successful. Now, MJ wants a new trial and is filing a motion to get it. Since this is an entirely new trial, new issues can be raised that were not brought forth in the first trial, explains Attorney Anthony Rickman of Taracks Gomez & Rickman. Attorney misconduct could be the grounds for this new trial if the court sees this as legitimate. Allegedly, Bubba’s law firm set MJ up with a DUI. A juror spoke out that she believes a new trial would not be a good idea, because the case was not that serious to begin with. She believes that this lawsuit is more about ego than justice. If a new case is granted, it will be difficult to find unbiased jurors, since this was a highly publicized case.
